Welcome to the Julia Child slo cooked Lasagna Draft review. Where you dont get just the top ten, you get most of the fist round!
1. Utah Jazz - Bill Laimbeer C 6'11'' 245 22 B- C C B+ A- A
Elite strength and jumpshot. Good inside scoring, handles, steals and post defense.
Cry Baby went first. I mean I get it, and was the number 1 pick, but he was such a fucking asshole dirty player. Hell even his own teammate broke his hand punching the fucktard in practice.
B
2. Denver Nuggets - Sidney Moncrief SG 6'4'' 180 22 B- B- B- B+ C A
Good jumpshot, handles, quickness and steals. Solid inside scoring, perimeter defense and strength.
I dont understand the love for Sidney when there were better players available. Royal is in his CY though and must see something I don'teammate
C
3. Seattle Sonics - Mark Eaton C 7'4'' 275 22 C+ D+ C- A- B B
Elite blocks, post defense and strength. Good handles.
As much as I love Eaton, this was a tad of a reach, should have taken James D.
B
4. Toronto Raptors - Kiki Vandeweghe SF 6'8'' 220 21 B B+ D+ C+ C A
Good inside scoring, jumpshot, 3 point shot, handles, and quickness.
Kiki will be good, but not the right pick with such amazing bigs still around
C
5. Orlando Magic - James "Donnie" Donaldson C 7'2'' 275 22 B C- C- B+ B B
Elite inside scoring and strength. Good blocks, post defense and handles.
Steal of the draft at number 5 is the big ol man James D
A
6. New Jersey Nets (from phx) -- Bill Cartwright C 7'1'' 245 22 B C C- B+ B A
Elite strength. Good inside scoring, jumpshot, handles and steals.
Another big man that should have been taken sooner, and look who just happened to be sitting there waiting for a free big guy, but Greeme
A
7. Sacramento Kings - Larry Smith PF 6'8'' 215 21 C D+ C- B A- B
Elite offensive and defensive rebounding and strength. Good handles and post defense.
First stud rebounding big we have had in a while, with the right training camp, might be special.
B
8. New Jersey Nets(from Wolves) - Vinnie Johnson SG 6'2'' 200 23 B+ C+ D+ C C B
Elite inside scoring and jumpshot. Good handles and quickness. Solid strength and jumping.
Vinnie the Microwave. Dude is gonna make the scoreboard overheat with his scoring, and lack of D. Greeme really ate well this draft.
A
9. Detroit Pistons (from Milwaukee Bucks) - Rick Mahorn PF 6'10'' 240 21 C+ C- C- B+ B B
Elite strength. Good handles and post defense. Solid blocks and steals.
Dang, really wish I had had this pick to get Rick. The right stuff to be a stud, and was a steal at 9.
A
10. Seattle Sonics(from Pistons) - Calvin Natt SF 6'6'' 220 22 B C C- B C+ B
Elite jumpshot. Good inside scoring, handles and quickness. Very poor 3 point shot.
Natt might be an amazing PF, or a so so SF. A little biut of a reach, but a great prospect.
B
11. Indiana Pacers - Andrew Toney SG 6'3'' 178 22 B B- B- B- C- A
Elite quickness. Good inside scoring, jumpshot and perimeter defense. Solid handles and strength.
Andrew is a tweener and could go either way, boom or bust. Draft starts getting a bit thin here, so can't blame the safe pick of an A pot player.
B
12. Philadelphia 76ers - Earl Cureton PF 6'9'' 210 22 C+ C C- A- B B
Elite strength. Good jumpshot, handles and post defense. Solid steals and inside scoring.
Had really hoped Earl would have fallen, but that was under the assumption Rambis wouldn't still be available. Earl should be a decent starter for years to come.
B
13. Miami Heat - Darwin Cook PG 6'3'' 184 21 B- C+ C+ A- C B
Elite jumpshot and quickness. Good inside scoring and steals. Solid handles and perimeter defense.
Boom or Bust PG here. a bit of a reach, as several BAPs ahead, but looks like hoping he's a Livingston type PG. The handles are scary though.
C
14. Los Angeles Clippers - Dave Greenwood PF 6'9'' 222 22 B C C- B- C+ B
Good inside scoring, jumpshot and handles. Solid post defense and strength.
Never can tell, but this guy looks like a bust out of the gate. No stocks and No boards. Maybe he's a good SF?
D
15. Dallas Mavericks - Kurt Rambis PF 6'8'' 213 21 C+ C C B+ B B
Good jumpshot, handles, steals and strength. Solid inside scoring and post defense.
Never expected to find Kurt still on the board at this point. BAP big left, but does need some work.
B
16. Dallas Mavericks(from Warriors) - Bill Hanzlik 6'7'' 185 22 B C C- A- C B
GOod inside scoring, jumpshot, handles, quickness and steals. Solid post defense and strength.
Should be a decent SF or a good backup 1-3. No boards hurt his otherwise pretty good notes.
C
17. Atlanta Hawks (from Orlando Magic, Grizzlies) - Sly Williams SF 6'7'' 210 21 B- C C- B+ C+ B
Elite handles and steals. Good jumpshot and post defense.
Kept looking this guy over everytime I looked at the draft. Decent player and good pick for this point in the Draft.
B
18. New Orleans Hornets - Jim Paxson SG 6'6'' 200 22 C A- C C+ C- B
Elite jumpshot. Good 3 point shot, handles and quickness. Solid steals.
Really love Jim, but hate him. Will all depend how he develops. Not a good defender and not a good volume scorer.
C
19. Detroit Pistons from Lakers via Magic) - Rory Sparrow PG 6'2'' 175 21 B- B- B- C+ C- B
Good jumpshot, handles and quickness. Solid steals and inside scoring.
Seems kinda meh. Doesn't excell at anything, and looks to be a hope that there is more under the hood kind of guy.
C
20 Phoenix Suns(from Celtics) - Tiny Lorenzo Romar PG 6'11'' 232 21 C+ B- B- C+ C B
Good jumpshot, quickness and handles. Solid steals.
This guy is a HUGE PG, been hanging on inversian machines to really stretch himself out for the draft.
B
21. Houston Rockets - Geoff Huston PG 6'2'' 175 22 C B+ B- C C- B
Elite juumpshot. Good handles and quickness. Mediocre inside and steals.
Will really come down to if he can play any D.
C
22. Dallas from Sacramento Kings(from Nets) - Kyle Macy PG 6'3'' 175 22 C B+ B- C D+ B
Elite jumpshot. Good handles and quickness. Mediocre steals and inside scoring
Will really come down to if he can play any D.
