I thought i would try to get a bit creative with this since the FA class is completely shit and it seems a lot of GMs are looking to deal! I am going to list off some stud players who are on the block and why I think you should trade for them.
Players gonna play:
Julius Erving SF 31 6'7'' 210 A- A B- B+ B+ C
No one else to start with here. Do you need a Doctor? Dr J is a mega stud and available truly for the first time since nanz for some reason moved him for bing and fred carter. The reason I know this is a real block is Play hates second contracts as he stated. Dr J really is the whole package and one of the elite wings in the league. He is good for nearly 30 ppg with boards, nearly 5 stocks and good fg%. Dr J is handsomely paid but that really isnt a problem for another 4 seasons. Should be a no hesitation deal if Play likes a prospect package and your team is looking to improve!
George McGinnis PF 31 6'8'' 235 A- B+ B+ A+ A D
George is a top player on the file and was almost traded this season! So will Manas try to get him back out there? Honestly I have no freaking idea because he is not very active and when he is a major stipulation is needed for trade. George is a 30/12 stud who can play SF or big man. Some Tos but who gives a damn! Stud who has carried the blazers.
John Drew SF 27 6'6'' 205 B+ A+ C A- B+ B
Drew is an excellent player who likely wont get traded since Game is the GM but he put him on the block AGAIN as it seems he wants to rebuild. Drew is an elite scorer and pretty much Dr J with out the stocks. Game is seeking elite level talent after trading Paultz and Carr. The cool thing about Drew is he is on the right side of 30 and has been injected with a lot of potential over his years. Drew could be a game changer for a team if acquired.
Moses Malone PF 26 6'10'' 215 A C D A- A+ B
Really just putting here out of pure respect. He is the best player "available" and maybe still the best in the league but are you really available if you are only avail for Larry Bird? Trade me moses for a package.
Ralph Simpson SG 32 6'5'' 200 B A B- A- C+ B
Jah doesnt often make blocks but he did one for Ralph. At 32 years old he still likely has some left in the tank. A true hornet's legend since he was another guy I never knew was good until he was good. Ralph is expiring and can really score. 28/7 SG could be make or break on the title hopes.
Purvis Short SG 24 6'7'' 210 A- A- C+ B+ C A
Still holding that A pot and on the last year of his rookie deal, Chipper, has made Purvis avail as he seeks to tank for Nique at all costs. I think a player of this caliber can land a decent pick or prospect as they do not often become available, however, the question remains how much do you spend to get a player doing something based off their potential vs an older guy who can hop in with 23/6.
Slick Watts PG 30 6'1'' 175 B B- A+ A C C
PG market is a bit interesting now but you can not deny that Watts is a stock god at the position. He is not much of a scorer but one of the best facilitation guys in the league. The price on him is a first and he is expiring. Seems like a solid opportunity!
Jamaal Wilkes SF 27 6'6'' 190 A- A- C A- B- B
I like Wilkes a lot. He is a good starter who can do a bit of it all. The Bucks are looking to tank for real now and Wilkes could be a good addition to a team. Jamaal is a former warrior touting good scoring ratings/ percentages, rebounding and defense. He is not much of a stocks man but no one should complain to have a 25/7 SF!
Kermit Washington PF 30 6'8'' 230 A- C- C A+ A D
Kermit is one of the few bigs whos not ancient who might be available. After years of being held back in Miami Kermit is really shining now a days with 16/13 production on 47% with a great stock to TO ratio. Not much more to ask for from a big. Rex is new to the league so he likely will be patient but they have their picks and could certainly tank.
Maurice Cheeks PG 25 6'1'' 180 B A- B+ A C C
Everyone wants some of the cheeks but no one wants to pay up it seems. Cheeks is very interesting because of his career arc. Never really got a full chance to shine, I think he played SG alot, got a pot boost and now he is sitting here at 25 looking ripe. There is some potential here too I think, the guy can get better. What will you give up!
Jack Sikma SF 26 6'11'' 230 B- B+ C+ B- A B
Jack is on the block if it gets Larry and Kobe closer to the end goal! He has been subject to a lot of trade talk and it appears Kobe just hasnt found the right partner yet. A rebounding SF with good scoring is interesting. I think Jack's story is still to be written
Don Adams SF 34 6'6'' 210 A- B+ C A B C
Old, overpaid but for the cost of likely free or partial expiring this could be a decent get. His deal is 4 years long so it might hurt a bit but hes a plus rebounding/ stocks 3 .
Gerald Henderson PG 25 6'2'' 175 B B+ C+ B+ C D
An underrated guard out of Toronto. Henderson was uncamped until Braz took him from the Jazz. Gerald is a very good scorer with a limited 3 point shot, a decent rebounded for the position and a good defender. Gerald is an ideal back up 1/2 but in starter min from days 51-70 Gerald did 25 ppg with 2.2 steals to 2.5 TOs on 46%.
463 Bob Lanier C 33 6'11'' 250 B+ C C A A C
Let's just say we should all be happy that Rex didnt randomly 6 year max this guy. The man is learning! 1 year deal seems right. Maybe a good get if you need a big short term!
I prob missed a few! sorry if any were obvious
Teams with ambitions:
The Warriors- Bill Walton and Bobby Jones...these guys are both studs off of a recent title team! Stool was very ready to tear it down until he got a situtation from Hell to come up. Bigs who can do it all seem to be more scarce then the wings right now and I think both of these player IF actually moved can drive a premium! If these guys go does that open the flood gates for Murphy and Knight deals? The GSW team can be your one stop shop.
The Knicks- We have no idea which way this team will go but logic tells me they will either trade a young stud in Aguire or Blackman for a PG or take the low road and move studs Dantely, Dawkins and maybe even Clem to restock assets and pursue a harder tank around a gauntlet of youth.
The Lakeshow- I could see Dino, Artis and Sobers all being traded as Nanz is a bit cap strapped. He is typically a GM very open to deals if they make some sense. These are all studs avail for likely 2 or 3 for 1 type moves. Usually as a GM you are seeking to trade a few chips in for a stud. Here is the chance!
Detroit P- Well Harold is the master of the deal and he is in CY. He stated everyone could be avail, even stud DJ for players at other positions. Harold seems to be in a position where he is willing to get chips to trade for other things before the season starts. Expect the deals to flow and flow like a river through Detroit.
