1. Golden State Warriors - Patrick Ewing C 7'0'' 240 23 B+ C D B+ B A
Elite inside scoring and strength. Good jumpshot. Solid handles, blocks and rebounding.
Shameless tank job by stoool and the Warriors. Sitting at 2-30, this team is all but locked into the #1 projected pick despite not posting a DC until sim 5. Anyways, with the top pick, you can’t go wrong with Ewing or Sabonis tbh. Ewing should be a juicy dominate big, maybe in the mold of former Warrior, Bill Walton.
2. Seattle Sonics - Arvydas Sabonis C 7'3'' 279 21 B C+ B B- B A
Elite inside scoring and strength. Good jumpshot and handles. Solid passing, blocks, post defense and rebounding.
There is so much to like here. Before the notes dropped, it was questionable how good he’d be. Solid blocks has me all in. I’m sure JR would love Ewing, but Sabonis is a phenomenal consolation prize.
3. Milwaukee Bucks - Chris Mullin SF 6'6'' 200 22 C+ B+ C+ C+ C A
Elite jumpshot. Good inside scoring and handling. Solid 3 point shot, quickness and steals.
Mullins will get the spence treatment here. He’s already a HOF player, but given that he’s a former Warrior, he’ll be an all that and more. Big fan of Mullin and wouldn’t be shocked to see a wing needy team take him #2.
4. Miami Heat - Drazen Petrovic SG 6'5'' 195 21 C+ A- C- C+ C A
Elite jumpshot. Good 3 point shot, handling and quickness. Solid inside scoring and steals.
This part of the draft seems similar value wise to me. Drazen will certainly be able to score with the best of them. Miami could look to Malone here, but I have them taking the elite G.
5. Washington Wizards - Karl Malone PF 6'9'' 250 22 A- C- D C+ B+ A
Elite inside scoring and strength. Good handling. Solid jumpshot and rebounding. Poor blocks.
Lumleys first pick back as GM is a good one. Sure, Malone won’t block, but he should be a 25-30PPG forward with eventual elite rebounding. Good handling is huge too. He might not create turnovers, but won’t force them, while putting the ball in the hoop at great efficiency.
6. New York Knicks (from BOS) - Joe Dumars SG 6'3'' 190 22 C+ B- B- B+ C A
Good jumpshot, handles and quickness. Solid inside scoring, steals and perimeter defense.
Dumars has all of the makings of a big time scoring guard. Coming in with good handles and that B- grade, makes him an intriguing candidate to be moved to PG. I would try and camp those handles asap, get him to B, then move his ass before TC.
7. Milwaukee Bucks (from LAC) - Charles Oakley PF 6'8'' 225 22 B- C C- B+ B+ A
Elite stength and post defense. Good jumpshot, handling and steals. Solid rebounding.
Oak man belongs with the fellow Knick fan, Andy. He might not block, but he’ll do everything else. Should get some steals too. Oakley and Mullin is a great pairing.
8. New York Knicks - Detlef Schrempf SF 6'10'' 235 22 B- B- B- C C+ A
Good jumpshot and quickness. Solid inside scoring and handling. Mediocre 3 point shot and passing.
Another scoring wing. Does he get stocks? We will have to see with questions, but he has a great base to be a very good wing. I like the C+ boards too. Hot.
9. Philadelphia 76ers - Sarunas Marciulionis SG 6'5'' 200 21 B+ B- C C+ C- B
Elite inside scoring and quickness. Good jumpshot and handles.
Elite inside for a G? One could argue that he should go a lot higher here. We know with camps and FBB TCs that the outside game will come. We are looking at a A- A- type wing. Stud.
10. Sacramento Kings - Benoit Benjamin C 7'0'' 250 21 B- C- D+ C+ B- A
Elite strength. Good inside scoring. Solid jumpshot and blocks.
Elite strength is a common theme here so far for the bigs. Benoit is one of the few with solid blocks. That should rise him up the rankings come draft day. Camp that rebounding and blocks and you have yourself a starting big.
11. New Jersey Nets - Hot Rod Williams C 6'11'' 215 23 B C C- B C+ B
Elite inside scoring. Good jumpshot, handles, strength and post defense.
I feel like greeme tends to lean towards bigs in the lottery. Hot Rod should be the best available here. Nothing in the notes about his blocks, which is concerning - but he was a 2BPG guy IRL.
12. New York Knicks (from LAL) - Mario Elie SF 6'5'' 210 22 C+ B+ C B+ C B
Elite jumpshot and handles. Good quickness. Solid 3 point shot and steals.
I don’t think there is a way I could take another wing here, but Elie is my BPA. Another former Warrior, Elie has an elite Jumpshot. Camp his inside, 3 point and steals and you have a stud.
13. San Antonio Spurs - Spud Webb PG 5'6'' 133 22 C B+ B C+ D+ B
Elite jumpshot, quickness and jumping. Good handles. Solid steals.
There is a lot to like here. A PG with elite jump shot, quickness and good handles? Woooo. The jumping might be a little concerning given his C inside, but he should be able to overcome it.
