Len Bias is the definition of a boom or bust prospect.
2068 Mock Draft
1. Cleveland Cavaliers – SF Len Bias
Not everyone was happy about how Len Bias was made. He seems extremely raw and a big risk compared to recent top prospects but the Cavs basically have no one outside of Stockton so will take the swing here anyways.
2. Boston Celtics – PF Dennis Rodman
There are no clear positions of need for the Celtics and while Rodman’s offensive upside is limited, he is destined to be the best rebounder of all time and should be very good defensively also. A safe way to start a rebuild.
3. Miami Heat – SG Ron Harper
It is a hard draft to identify tiers especially when valuations on prospects differs from GM to GM. That said, I do think Harper is the best available at this point and the Heat add a young wing next to Mullin, which could see Kiki on his way out.
4. Memphis Grizzlies – PG Mark Price
This is where the draft gets interesting, with who I consider the top 3 prospects out of the way. The Grizzlies have their franchise big man in Sabonis but not much else. I think they address the most important position in the game by going after Mark Price. Some work needed defensively but the potential is there.
5. Minnesota Timberwolves – SG Jeff Hornacek
Isiah Thomas desperately needs some younger pieces around him as the aging squad is just not cutting it. The Wolves will hope IT + Hornacek will be their backcourt pairing for years to come.
6. Golden State Warriors – SF Chuck Person
Karl Malone had a sensational rookie campaign and just fell short in ROTY voting, while Willis is looking promising also. What they lack are prospects at the wing positions, so they go with Chuck Person who is also arguably BPA at this spot.
7. Washington Wizards – PF Roy Tarpley
The Wizards won the lottery last season and would love for that to happen again but for now they remain in #7 and if this is the position they are picking from, there will be a lack of guards to select from so they go with another big to pair alongside Ewing in Tarpley, who has solid ratings and some promising notes.
8. Chicago Bulls – C Brad Daugherty
The Bulls have a solid guard duo and would want to add talent around them rather than to replace them. Daugherty is one of the better prospects left on the board at this stage and fits their team needs also. Could have a big role from day one.
9. Denver Nuggets – PG Nate McMillan
The Nuggets have a decent young core to build around in Chuck/Worthy/Robertson. I am not a fan of floor generals not adept at scoring but McMillan could be a nice fit for this squad.
10. Portland Trail Blazers – SG Vincent Askew
Not the best available at this point in my opinion, as there are a couple of SFs left I would prefer, but the Blazers have already spent two lotto picks in recent drafts on SFs already and I think they go with Askew instead, who has an interesting all-around profile

Pretty hard draft to mock I have to say. Honestly have no idea who will go #1 and if I even have the tiers right. What do you guys think?
