Don't know the history of these teams and just going off what i see this years sim so far. So, i could be wrong on some teams. Just a heads up.
Boston Celtics 1-5
The Celtics started the season off with a 1-5 sim. They seem to be in rebuild mode to me. They have some really nice prospects though. Along with some solid vets. Not expecting much from them this season. Some of their high end prospects are; Horace Grant, Len Bias and Anthony Bowie. They should probably try to move Billy Knight for a pick or two and some expiring giving them lots of cap space come this off season. I do like Grant and Bias though. Very good young players to build around. Grant looks good out the gate with 13.2 ppg and 8.8 rpg. Needs to up the blocks though. Len Bias has star potential. Lets see what happens with his development. All in all a solid young core. Needs to try and get some more young players with potential.
Miami Heat 5-1
The opposite of the Celtic squad are the Miami Heat. They have a 5-1 record on opening sim. This team has some serious scorers on it. They also have some of the leagues best shot blockers. Reggie Theus and Purvis Short leads the way for the Miami Heat. Theus with 30.3 ppg but 4.2 topg and Purvis with 29.3 ppg. Both very good scorers. Chris Mullin is looking good too with 24.7 ppg and 8.8 rpg. Moses, Mycal and Edgar are putting up some serious blocking numbers. Very good team. Championship material.
New Jersey Nets 3-4
I think this team should be better than their record. Defence might be the problem as they allow 135.1 ppg and only put up 125 ppg. They have elite scorer Bernard King on their squad mixed with some really good shooters. I think the front court might be the problem here. They could use some better big men. All in all i think they are better than a 3-4 record. They have a good mix of youth with vets. Solid team.
New York Knicks 2-5
Knicks have a plethora of first round picks plus superstar prospect David Robinson. They should probably move their vets for picks and do a full rebuild around Robinson and Sarunas. But, Robinson looks to be a very very good player and Sarunas is already a top scorer. Build around these two young guys and you are good to go.
Orlando Magic 4-2
The Magic have Magic Johnson on the team who is a great player. The guy can score, assist and rebound. He is putting up a triple double so far this season. Elite player. Then you have Toney who is a great scorer. Mix it with some solid guard play and good big and you have a nice team. I think this team has a chance to make it far in the playoffs. Very good team Orlando has.
Philly 76ers 3-5
The 76ers seems to look like they are trying to compete but their record does not show it. They do have some solid players but they are in the tier like the above two teams; Magic and Heat. A lot of their good players are on the older side. Perhaps its time to rebuild? They have their picks. Maybe trade some of the older guys for youth and picks. They don't have any bad contracts so rebuilding shouldn't be a problem for them
Washington Wizards 1-4
They have a nice young duo in Barkley and Benny. The question is if that is enough? Perhaps they try to get one more nice pick and add one more to the duo? I like Barkley and Benny though. They also have some young sharpshooters in Price and Hornacek. Try to get one more young star and they should be good to go with the cap space they are projected to have.
