EASTERN CONFERENCE

(1) Knicks vs. (8) Raptors
The top seeded New York Knicks face off against the Toronto Raptors in this lopsided 1 seed vs 8th seed match up. You have to give credit to Skillz because every season he puts together a competitive team, that is fun and wins games. They reached the 60-win mark again this season and will take care of the Raptors in a good old fashioned sweep. The Raptors lack of talent and defense will hurt any chances they have of taking a game here. The Knicks and Steve Nash have an easy round one.

(2) Hornets vs. (7) Sixers
Ah, what a match up we have here! Pig vs Steve! Webber vs Robinson! Two good league guys who have to battle it out on the courts. Pig had one hell of a season topped with some head scratchers that GMs around the league questioned. While, on the other hand, Steve made a big splash and traded away star Antawn Jamison to Portland, along with Chris Webber to the Hornets for Glenn Robinson and Samuel Dalembert among others. The new look Sixers will have an offensive battle on their hands that will prove to be too much to overcome. The Hornets and their stellar offense led by point guard Chauncey Billups will win this round one matchup.

(3) Cavaliers vs. (6) Pistons
This is where things get interesting! The Cavs have one of the best rebounding teams in the league. With KG, Dirk and KVH on the same squad, they prove to be a deadly threat every night. On the other hand, Detroit is led by future hall of famer Tim Duncan. Timmay hasn’t had the right squad built around him over the years to really contend for a title. Will this season be any different? Will Tim Lead the Pistons to the ECF and beyond? Unfortunately, I don’t think Tim has the squad again this year and my good pal Galo will lose this round one series.
Prediction: Cavaliers in 7
(4) Heat vs. (5) Wizards
Another interesting matchup! The Wizards got off to a surprising start this season and shocked everyone around the league. They cooled off a bit but still finished with 53 wins. Two offensive squads matching up against one another, when both healthy, would be a fun series. ZBO vs Predrag and Jason Terry. I honestly think Jah built one of the more well-rounded teams in the league this season. He is tough to trade with, but it seems like it has finally paid off for him this year. Some injuries at play here though. Finley is out for the Heat and Moiso for the Wizards. Who will be able to rise above this? I think the Wizards have enough depth to overcome this challenge and win in 7 games.
Prediction: Wizards in 7
WESTERN CONFERENCE
(1) Kings vs. (8) Lakers
Ah, another lopsided match up. This time last season you would be looking at these two teams in the WCF. Now, Nanz tore down his talented squad and looked to have some fun with it. While, Ashes kept everyone together and still ran the West while hitting 67 wins. The Kings will win this series but not without Nanzy putting up a small fight.

(2) Mavericks vs. (7) Spurs
The West, where everything gets interesting! The Spurs had a shocking turnaround mid break and have really come on lately. While Habes has built one of the most dynamic and fun squads in the league. The Mavericks can be good for a long time, but knowing Habes, more moves will always come. I have to like both teams chances in this matchup. JCraw and Tmac on one squad with DWade and Gwall on another. I think The Mavericks will find a way to win this series though. Habes has more depth and a more well rounded team.

(3) Trail Blazers vs (6) Suns
The Suns shocked everyone this season and were HOT by the All-Star Break. A couple questionable moves later made by Andrew and they seemed to have stumbled a bit in the second half of the season. While on the other hand, the Trail Blazers got off to a slow start and turned it on in the second half. They had a 15-game winning streak in the final 30 days. I expect Dan (
) to heal Baron to get his starting point guard back. The Blazers have beaten the Suns 4 times this season but in the end that means nothing. It’s the playoffs and it’s a new day. Still, I think my squad will overmatch the Suns and win the series.

Ah, Jeb saved himself and made some great moves in his CY. Unfortunately, Zo was injured in the final sim and this will hurt any chances for a deep playoff run. I love the Clippers squad and the stars they have in the starting lineup. Shaq, DD and Kidd will prove to be too much for the Twolves. Without their star center they won’t be able to win this one.
