Dallas Mavericks – Aaron Harold Habes – Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm)
My friend Harold is very similar to Larry David in a lot of ways. I think the biggest one is they like to tell it how it is, very smart and are hilarious fellas. Not to mention BALD! Don't tell Larry I said that. Larry Davis is living the good retired divorced life in Curb. Semi working, semi owning a coffee shop. Harold loves Coffee, works a ton, is not divorced and expecting more children. Where was I going with this? I don’t know but they both make me laugh and I love them. I hope Harold can be as rich as Larry one day. Denver Nuggets – Royal – The Joker (The Dark Knight)
Ah yes, this is where it gets a bit CRAZY! Royal is like the Joker in a lot of ways. What was that line Alfred said, “Some people just want to watch the world burn.” I think Royal loves seeing the commotion he creates whether it’s with trades, banter, or just messing around with the fellas. Likeable guy, similar in a lot of ways to the Joker. You can’t help but be mesmerized by him. I kinda love seeing what he comes up with next! He is always doing some wacky trade or going in two different directions with his team. I’m not sure he knows his end goal but he is having fun while doing it. Houston Rockets – Ahsan – Dale Denton – (Pineapple Express)
Wow, Seth Rogen makes this list twice! I needed to add a stoner, fun loving guy to this mix and this is perfect. Ahsan and Seth Rogen go hand in hand. Stoner who seem like great guys! Seth in Pineapple Express is hilarious and a good dude. Ahsan seems the same! He hasn’t had much success in this version of BBS, but maybe that will change just like it might change for Dale! I don’t remember the plot so don’t bother asking me! Minnesota Timberwolves – Jeb – Scott Pilgrim (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World)
Jeb seems like a real good dude. Avoided his CY but his team seems to have slid back into middle of the pack again. Hope he figures it out this offseason and shakes it up a bit. It appears he may do that. I don’t know, I see Jeb and think of Scott. He had to fight off a lot of evil ex-bfs. I hope Jeb never has to experience that. Scott was a nice guy, very funny. Couldn’t get past the whole ex-bfs thing. Hope it works out for everyone. Not really sure about this one but what the hell! San Antonio Spurs – John - Roy Munson (Kingpin)
I just watched Kingpin the other day and maybe this could be John! A once promising bowler, had a bad accident, turned drunk and now in his 40s/50s he's trying to prove he’s still got it! John had a once promising young team. Today, still the same core without changing much or doing much of anything. Except adding Zo and finally trading Odom. 1 trade a season FTW! Not sure this plan will work, need to shake things up a bit. Like Roy, maybe go on an adventure with an Amish guy played by Randy Quaid and a hot female actress. Just a thought! Utah Jazz – JR - Jeremy Grey (Wedding Crashers)
JR seems like a fun guy. We all know he loves to eat ass. He had a bad infection and that kept him out of the league for a few weeks but we’re glad he’s returned and is healthy again. Jeremy Grey was a fun-loving guy. Loved to crash weddings, and I’m sure he loved to eat ass too. He fell in love with a red head, some say never do that, but maybe JR is wiser. Memphis Grizzlies – Jeff Erbes - Hormone Monster (Big Mouth)
My pal Jeff here is definitely the Hormone Monster in the Netflix TV Show Big Mouth. What else do we have to say here? He is always horny and looking to jerk off. It speaks for itself! The Hormone Monster is pretty hilarious as well, I’m not sure Jeffrey’s comedic chops align with his but the horniness is through the roof. Golden State Warriors – Manas - Jordan Belfort (The Wolf of Wall Street)
Manas is the Wolf of BBS! He is stocks Manas! This man loves telling us about his daily stock trading similar to that of Jordan Belfort. Quite frankly, I’m not sure what schemes Manas is up to, but let’s hope it’s nothing like Jordan. Jordan was once on top of the world and then it all came crashing down. TBH Manas had Billups and Dirk and then it all came crashing down. Now he is in his CY. TBD if he makes it but it’s looking good right now! Los Angeles Clippers – Outlawz - Alonzo (Training Day)
Once upon a time he was top dog. King of kings. He used to run these BBS streets. But those days are long gone, there are new dogs in this fight. Outlawz doesn’t seem to have the time right now for sim leagues, so it’s probably best he joins the wait list, but I thought this was a fun comparison. That fight seems to be long gone!
Los Angeles Lakers – Nanz Jesse Katsopolis (Full House)
Hello! John Stamos!! Uncle Jesse! Coolest guy in town with the coolest hair and a babe of a wife! Yeah, that guy. Except Nanz doesn’t have twins…yet. Uncle Jesse is a cool guy, always there for his family. Lives in San Fran…Oregon is kinda close huh? Anyway, yeah, nanz will love this pick. He might as well take up the bongos and join the Beach Boys. Phoenix Suns – Andrew - Dwight Schrute (The Office)
Andrew and Dwight you say! Andrew seems to be a bit all over this place in this version of BBS. Similar to Dwight he will speak his mind. Sometimes his ideas may be a bit wacky, but that’s why we love Andrew. He seems like a hard worker and if we had to be put in an office setting, he would definitely be Spencer’s right hand man! I bet Andrew used to bring an apple to the teacher in Elementary School! Portland Trail Blazers – Dan – George Costanza (Seinfeld)
George lives in NYC, sometimes lives at home with his parents, and at one point worked for the Yankees. This is great baby! I’ve also been in many pools, thanks for noticing! Mark and talking below... lol...you get in the MOOD!! Tell me, please. i'm begging you. I work in sports, live in NYC, moved back home because of COVID! FUCK!
Sacremento Kings – Ashes – Apollo Creed (Rocky)
Ashes and Apollo Creed seem to be a good one in the first Rocky. Apollo was on top of the world in Rocky. He was the heavyweight champion of the world. Walked the walk, talked the talk. Ashes is in the similar position. He has the rings to back it up. But be careful, there is always an underdog looking to upset the king. Take over the top, maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But that day will come! Seattle Super Sonics – Mark – The Rock (In any film)
Mark is jacked to the gills. Similar to the Rock. Both love to clang and bang if you catch my drift. Mark would rather be in the gym than doing anything else and so would the Rock. The Rock gets his home gym moved for every movie he shoots ffs! Smart, wise, crafty fellas with big arms. This is perfect! Let’s not get into the Rock’s love interest problem! Can we see this guy plow on screen??? One time???
SPENCER MARTIN - THE COMMISH - Michael Corleone (The Godfather Part 1 and 2)
Spencer Martin is the Godfather. He has been with us through it all and then some. He never turns his back on his family. We're his virtual family and we're always there for him. Then there is his real family, who I think have to put up with his FBB shenanigans or else. Spencer is a good guy at heart but he is always willing to throw down the law if he has too. He is the godfather and we love him!! This is his role! He was born for this!! THANK YOU GODFATHER!!
