G'day Gents from the land of Corona 2.0,
It's been a big season in BBS2020 with a consolidation of talent at the top of the league and dilution at the bottom. For the final edition for Season 2006, we received the rankings from 8 executives around the league. Here are their thoughts on the league's best 10 teams!
1. Sacramento Kings (80 votes, 8 First Place votes)
Record: 65-17
Playoff Status: Conference Finalist vs Utah Jazz
Habes: Another dominant season. Forever stained by preying on Break and Chipper, but Ashes doesn't seem to mind.
Sargo: Best team, obviously. maybe theyll tear it down
Brian: 3 peat
Galo: Not sure if there's a team built to stop them yet.
Footy: Easily the best team in the league and the first BBS20 dynasty
2. Cleveland Cavaliers (72 votes)
Record: 61-21
Playoff Status: Conference Finalist vs Chicago Bulls
Habes: BBS' perpetual bridesmaid, but a great one
Ahsan: They just been HOT HOT HOT. This might be the year they make finals.
Andy: Pretty solid big 2 and KVH is also there
Footy: This could be year they break their maiden and reach the finals. Or it could not be?
3. Chicago Bulls (50 votes)
Record: 53-29
Playoff Status: Conference Finalist vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Sargo: I love this squad man. The amare and melo deals were huge for a title run
Andy: Should be interesting to see what the loss of EG and addition of Ricky do for them
Galo: CHI has an elite level backcourt/wing situation but losing a great 3rd in Griffin big might hurt in the postseason.
Footy: A huge turnaround in the course of a season and everything has gone right for them after last season’s disappointing lotto result.
4. Utah Jazz (47 votes)
Record: 54-28
Playoff Status: Conference Finalist vs Sacramento Kings
Habes: JR is overrating his core, but it's very good.
Brian: Those young boys can play, but can they go all the way?
Andy: LeBron can carry a team far but they have a good amount of talent around them
Galo: LBJ and cast prolly face off against the Kings in the WCF
Footy: Exciting team with an earlier than expected shot at taking the crown from the Kings.
5. New Orleans Hornets (41 votes)
Record: 52-30
Playoff Status: Eliminated in the 2nd round (v. Cavaliers)
Sargo: Good team with depth
Ahsan: Not sure how I feel about this team long term but right now, they are damn good with AI+Z+GHill+Devin.
Galo: Liked the Harris move a lot for them. I believe their post-season success is predicted on Grant Hill.
Footy: Just a darn good team built in the mould of their darn good bloke of a GM, Piggly
6. Washington Wizards (36 votes)
Record: 51-31
Playoff Status: Eliminated in the 1st round (v. Bulls)
Habes: Never going to be as good as they were last season. JAH badly underestimated RJ's value
Sargo: Shooters galore and decent bigs
Footy: A consistent threat on the fringes of the BBS elite. A couple more aggressive moves could see them reach the next level.
7. Detroit Pistons (31 votes)
Record: 50-32
Playoff Status: Eliminated in 2nd round (v. Bulls)
Ahsan: Duncan and Gil. They might be a dynasty in a couple of seasons as they continue to add pieces. But that core nasty good
Andy: Gotta be up here with Duncan and Gil right?
Footy: An exciting team that has yet to find a recipe of success for Duncan.
8. Miami Heat (29 votes)
Record: 52-30
Playoff Status: Eliminated in 1st round (v. Pistons)
Sargo: Don’t sleep on this team right now, but they are old
Andy: The biggest question mark for them, front court aside, is how will injuries screw them?
Footy: Injuries throughout the season and a disappointing playoffs campaign. What direction will the Heat take in the offseason?
9. New York Knicks (26 votes)
Record: 52-30
Playoff Status: Eliminated in 1st round (v. Hornets)
Habes: Don't like Skillz' situation at all, given what he'll have to move to get a usable PG, but he'll climb out of it.
Ahsan: Not their best roster but still a great roster. Should be interesting to see what they do next season.
Footy: Collecting assets and biding their time but this squad may be looking at a rebuild in the near future.
10. Dallas Mavericks (19 votes)
Record: 50-32
Playoff Status: Eliminated in 1st round (v. Trailblazers)
Ahsan: Habes always making moves to make his team better. Not quite what I thought they would be in preseason but they still good and will always be getting better.
Brian: Still a threat, but first time the team has seemed to regress after day 99
Footy: Time is a circle and Habes is right back where he started to begin this seasons albeit with some wounds and some regret. This is still a dangerous team set up for the future but they aren’t as appealing as they once were.
