Morning fwends,
The dawning of a new season is upon us and potentially the dawning of a new champion.
As we head into season 9 of BBS2020, the Powerpolls are tighter than ever with 4 different teams being ranked as the league's best team by at least one executive around the league.
Should be an exciting season ahead!
1. Utah Jazz (72 votes, 2 First Place Votes)
Record: 6-5
Sargo: Elite team and I love the Jawad move
Stevie B: Jr has moved some pieces around, but I still like the team a ton. When you have Kobe/LeBron, you're a top 5 team...at least you should be
DB: Add Haslem and other key pieces. Gotta think the Jazz are right behind the Sonics, very close. Two talented squads.
Ashes: Bron and Kobe still so sexy.
2. Seattle Supersonics (62 votes, 3 FPV)
Record: 5-7
Sargo: Stacked young squad
DB: Not much has changed, but Mark's team has stayed the same and is very good. I think they will be favorites again.
Ahsan: After the 2 teams that made the finals both decided to go young, it became fairly obvious that the Supersonics following 2 straight years of losing in the WCF become the automatic favorites. CP3/Melo/TMac is just such a dynamic 1-2-3, gotta love it.
Svedda: Running it back again but idk about Dwight as your only big.
Ashes: Might finally be their time! Dwight and Paul are sick, TMac and Melo can score, good big depth overall. Top team.
3. Cleveland Cavaliers (61 votes, 3 FPV)
Record: 11-3
Andy: Best record right now and defending champs so why not. The Cavs have a very nice, young frontcourt with Al Jeff and Noah with a vet backcourt of Howard/Allen/KMart and Telfair. They have talent throughout and solid depth.
Stevie B: When you win it all, you get the top spot from Stevie B. Crazy that Francis got them a title. Unreal.
Svedda: Losing Dirk is huge but maybe the youth movement will keep them relevant.
Footy: Last year’s champions still look formidable. Annoying.
4. Chicago Bulls (60 votes)
Record: 7-4
Andy: Bulls traded away VC but the rest of the squad pretty much remains. Lou and Parker is a pretty sick backcourt and they still have a good frontcourt. They should make some noise come playoff time.
DB: Bulls keep talking about a rebuild but still have the same squad. I think they're legit contenders still if they keep this team around.
Svedda: Feel like they have needed one more trade for a few seasons now.
Footy: Is this the last dance (again) for the Bulls?
5. Golden State Warriors (54 votes, 1 FPV)
Record: 9-2
Andy: Pretty high up but Lowry is a stud. No other way to put it. Iggy might finally become what many thought he would and they have a very nice frontcourt. Thabo/Artest gives them swings that can score and play D. They are set up pretty well.
Stevie B: Manas has done a nice job. Lowry is such a stud. Got lucky he fell to him.
DB: Won 50 plus last year. They will probably do the same again this year.
Record: 6-5

DB: Won 50 plus last year. They will probably do the same again this year.
Footy: I've doubted this team for 2 seasons yet they have the wins on the board. Will be interesting to see just how far Manas can take this team
6. San Antonio Spurs (49 votes)
Record: 5-5
Galo: Not sure what they're missing but look stellar on paper
DB: KD and Dirk should make this a fun squad in the west. They might take some leaps this year and join the top 5 depending on KD.
Ahsan: Really took that next step by bringing in Dirk around the core of Durant/Yao/Brand. Nice supporting pieces like Milos, Walker, Reggie Evans (whom I had twice and strangely has 85+ inside). Should be a good team, just don't think they are quite on the level of the Sonics/Jazz.
Ashes: Might be better than a few of the teams I have higher, Milos still kicking which is cool, but I think it's hard for Milos to hold up vs. the other top PGs most of these teams have.
7. Atlanta Hawks (46 votes)
Record: 7-3
Andy: They can score and take care of the ball. Frontcourt is a bit shaky but it's hard to knock that backcourt they have.
Galo: I like this team a lot but they are a move or two away from being elite
Stevie B: Lookin' pretty good. The Bibby addition makes this an even better unit. Scary scoring.
DB: I like the Hawks a lot this year and think they will be a top 5 squad
Footy: Good looking team with an even better looking GM.
8. Houston Rockets (20 votes)
Record: 4-2
Galo: They look good thus far in Ahsans CY
Sargo: CY team but they should make it with Duncan
DB: I will put Timmay's squad in the top 10. They have some good pieces and in the weak west they should be able to crack it.
Ahsan: Duncan still Duncan. Fairly happy with Biedrins/Curry/Hollins joining him in the frontline. Backcourt has some question marks but hoping Carter/Barbosa hold it down. Hoping for a fun CY and not a stressful one so voting for myself.
Svedda: Might not be worthy of a spot here but they do have Duncan.
9. New Jersey Nets (18 votes)
Record: 8-3
Andy: Not really sold on the Nets but greeme is pretty good with his DC's and they have a lot of options swing wise. Their ability to rebound should carry them to a good season
Sargo: Ugly roster but it’ll work
Ahsan: This team is always damn nice. Lost a couple of players but got the depth to sustain it. Next man up.
Ashes: Um I guess Salmons is a beast now? Be worse!
10. Boston Celtics (15 votes)
Record: 7-5
Galo: FBB loves this team and its shooters
Ahsan: Brian has put together a nice roster. Feel like Anderson @ PF will backfire but Gortat/O'Bryant are waiting for him Ryno to fuck his opportunity up. Fun team, good team. Sleeper in the East for sure.
Svedda: Will underachieve again I'm sure.
Ashes: Livingston is too good. Like too, too good.
