I accept.
We agreed in principle when the 76ers were 21-18, two games out of the playoffs and Kidd was healthy.
I don’t like when GMs back out of trades with me so I didn’t want to set a precedent for behaving with poor motives in a deal, though I thought about it.
Clearly horrendous value. But Hakeem is the best player available on the market.
When you are gunning for a title, I think these are the type of moves you need to make. If it increases our title odds from 30% to 50%, it’s worth the surplus value I give up.
If MJ retires, I don’t think Raef and # 10 would have made me feel THAT much better about it anyway so might as well just go for it.
Will have Nash and Mash to fall back on and trade for value in a worst case scenario.
