Sim 1 Overreaction or not with JR
Alright so I will be going over some of the spiciest takes, and give you my opinion. It isn’t worth much but still should be interesting to read the comments afterwards.
1. Jamal Crawford’s Numbers are inflated!
Stats: 30.1 PPG 5 APG 47% FG%
Analysis: While this season is a small sample size we saw Jamal Crawford light up the Western Conference last season as Kobe’s running mate. This is no fluke, the guy is a stud scorer. Skillz put him in an offense that is to his strengths and he will stay around 30 ppg. Are his numbers inflated because of the DC nd the team surrounding him? Yes, but show me a team where they don’t make their best player the focal point. This is definitely an OVERREACTION.
2. Celtics will make the playoffs!
Record: 6-1
Analysis: This Celtics team has come out HOT to start this season. I’m not sure how they started last season, but this is definitely a better start. They are sitting in the drivers seat, with AI leading the way. Joe Smith looks to come of age averaging 21/10 at the SF position. The Celtics are definitely in need of some GOOD big men to go with AI and Joe Smith. I do think the Celtics make the playoffs so this is definitely NOT AN OVERREACTION.
3. Andrei Kirilenko will never live up to that contract!
Stats: 9.4 PPG 5.6 RPG 1 BPG
Analysis: AK has a long way to go to live up to that MAX contract that was tossed his way by the Los Angeles Lakers. His 1st TC was underwhelming, and his stats speak for themselves. It isn’t like he is getting minutes because those numbers are with him getting 30 MPG. With all that being said, I personally think he will be a very good player, itll take him the whole contract with camos and a good TC or 2 to actually live up to that contract. So for now this is an OVERREACTION.
4. Tony Parker is the best Rookie!
Stats: 20.6 PPG 5.4 RPG 6.1 APG
Analysis: Tony parker is a great rookie, even better then I thought. I knew hed be good 15-17 ppg in the right system, but 20 on 47% wow! He is definitely taking the league by storm and early on too! This statement isn’t about if Tony Parker is good it is if hes the best rookie from the draft and I believe he is not the best. Joe Johnson played PG I know but him at PG and turned it over under 2 times a game is very encouraging. He is a candidate to be a top scorer for the rooks even at SG. So this statement is an OVERREACTION.
5. The Rockets are the worst team in the League!
Record: 1-7
Analysis: The Rockets best player Shawn Marion who averages 24 and 11 broke his skull and is out for 53 days. If that wasn’t bad enough as a team they grab 44.3 rebounds per game. That is terrible and good for last by nearly 2 rebounds per game. No wonder they are losing they don’t rebound, they don’t take care of the ball, they don’t score, they don’t block shots or play defense. What are the Rockets and Ahsan good at? Losing games and they want Yao. He made the worst roster possible and got lucky with Marion out for so long. Yes the Rockets are the worst team in the league even with Marion. NOT AN OVERREACTION.
6. The Heats wings are inefficient!
Stats: Tracy McGrady 17.8 PPG, 43% FG%
Ricky Davis 24.8 PPG, 40% FG%
Analysis: I wanna start off by saying GODDAMN they throwing up bricks! T Mac had a nice jump in TC, but doesn’t seem to be simming better. While Ricky’s shooting % is a huge drop off from last season. With 4 games only being played this isn’t a big enough sample size to judge this team or any players on it. Personally I think both will be fine, but wouldn’t surprise me if T Mac doesn’t shoot much better then this either. Either way I think Ricky goes back up so this is an OVERREACTION.
7. Tim Duncan is the best player in the League!
Stats: 35.3 PPG 15.1 RPG 51% FG%
Analysis: Timothy motha fuckin Duncan! Like what is there to say about this guy? He is the greatest player in the league because he has no weaknesses. Leads the league in points, and rebounds for goodness sake. Top 10 in blocking and being very efficient shooting wise and only turning it over 1.4 times a game. This player will be dominating the league for a very long time, lets hope the Clippers can win a ship for him, and not waste his talents! NOT AN OVERREACTION.
8. Nuggets are OLD but GOOD!
Record: 4-1
Analysis: Well hard to argue the part about them being old I suppose. The real question is are they GOOD? I think we saw how good they were in the playoffs last season against the eventual champs. Took them to 7 games and Shaq choked in game 7. So are the Nuggets good yes, sim 1 doesn’t tell us how good they are though. I think they land in the 3rd spot in the west this season. They seem to have found players that fit together and Stockton .2 TOPG is out of this world! This team could win it all even though everybody I felt has been giving him a hard time because they are so old, NOT AN OVERREACTION,
9. Eddy Curry is unplayable at either PF or C!
Stats: 21.4 PPG, 6.9 RPG, .4 BPG
Analysis: Eddy Curry is a scoring machine, even if he is 2 or 3 big macs away from collapsing from a heart attack. Curry has huge, glaring weaknesses on the boards and defensive end of the court. I think Curry could not be on a winning team this season unless he was coming off the bench! With that being said its only been 8 games into his career, not sure how many camps, but if everything is spent on defense such as blocking, and rebounding maybe steals I think he could develop into a startable big. I need 1 BPG and at least 8 rpg personally. I think he can get there rebounds especially. Blocking hell need some luck, but this is an OVERREACTION.
10. Jazz will not make it out the West!
Record: 5-3
Analysis: The Jazz are a very good team. They got smacked by the Bulls, and Nuggets respectively and then a 1 point loss at home to the Timberpups. Team stats all look good for this team, but they are not creating enough turnovers it seems. Could be just a bad sim for that, could be the reality for them. The next sim will tell more, but the West has gotten better and the Jazz seemed to have stayed the same, with a minor tweak here or there. I think the Jazz are the favorites in the West still, but I don’t think they make the Finals. Clippers or Nuggets will this season, so this is NOT AN OVERREACTION.
