20. Article Camps
Must be posted as a poll. 1-5. 15 total votes to count.
Roundtable type articles are allowed. Vote total goes to the poster, each GM that participates gets an RC.
No more then 4 people total in a Roundtable.
Rules regarding upgrading players with ACs...
-ACs are Article Camps. Article camps can be earned by doing articles.
-Players cannot be upgraded more then 3 times, and only once in any category.
-No age limit.
-You cannot upgrade someone over 85 in an category.
-ACs are decided by the outcome of the poll.
-ACs must be spent by the end of year file flip.

Maybe I’m just stirring stuff up. But to me there is an imbalance between a limit of three articles per season and unlimited RCs via posts. Some folks are able to get 10+ RCs per season via posts. Articles are usually good content and if not can be voted to not be worth much. Additionally the article doesn’t clog other threads. On the other hand, many posts add no value and clog up the sim threads or other league related threads. Thus the unlimited RC’s for posting can actually lead to a negative (excessive posts that provide little or no value and jam up what could be a good thread with interesting league discussion). I would propose a limit to post RCs to say 5 per season, to be tracked by the RC mod. This would still encourage posting but provide no incentive to spam. Thoughts? Spencer |

Why is it too hard to track it? Just say max CUMULATIVE 1500 posts per season. the people put the post count in the RC request. So for this season people can only do up to 3000. Then season three it only goes up to 4500. Etc. if people want to hang on and stack and cash in a few years worth in a single season they can. If people want to catch up after having 500 posts in the first season by having 2500 in the second season they can. But there should be a cumulative limit. |

devils advocate: if I'm maxed at 1500 then I post 100 a day and dropafter 12 days , and do DCs a little banter for the remainder of the season, cause fuck it I'm done, whats the point of engaging with people helping them get their posts...

To be honest that’s fine by me. Because that person is just posting for the RCs meaning a lot of what they post doesn’t contribute to the league or have value. We don’t need people posting 200x a day just to get RCs, that just makes it harder to read the forums. It sucks when there’s 20 pages to read through but then it’s not even enjoyable to read because most of it is drivel and/or people repeating themselves. Some of it not even league related. good discussion gets lost in the drivel. I gave a good/easy way to implement. Easy enough that I’d be happy to be the mod and do it. |

But borderline spam is not good. Capping RCs to 1500 posts per season cumulative would not remove any good conversation. Most people wouldn’t reach it anyway so would still be posting just as much, and those who post just for RCs may not make some of the pointless posts. |
