when I got my permit at the end of 8th grade I was 5'4 in boots, when I started 9th I was 6' and then added on another 4ish inches over the next 4 yrs I was 13 when I got my drivers permit, dad was friends with the guy over that department and he signed off on it so I could take the class that started right before my 14th birthday. I had to promise not to drive on the street for the 2 weeks until my birthday shit things done changed since your time... unless its a farm permit you couldn't get your permit til 15 if my memory is right. farm kids could drive on the farm from like 12 or 13 as long as their parents were cool with it. dont know why they'd need to even get a permit if you were out there tho. the law changed cause of the farm kids in ND. they had the farm permit and enough people said it was unfair to have 2 categories, so all kids could get it at 14 IF they took a class. ofc driving lessons aren't cheap so thankfully the school brought back drivers ed, else I wouldn't have got my car licence till 16, would have only had the motorcycle licence |

I think I was 2 when we moved to Fargo when dad got out of the AF (he met mom where freezin's the reason) and 5? yrs later we then moved to Mandan in 79 which is across the river from Bismarck. Lots of good times up there. Don't miss the winters though  First football game ever was going to see the Bison in an outdoor stadium. Was suppose to be there this summer but the reunion got canceled. Still have a shit ton of family up there |

I think I was 2 when we moved to Fargo when dad got out of the AF (he met mom where freezin's the reason) and 5? yrs later we then moved to Mandan in 79 which is across the river from Bismarck. Lots of good times up there. Don't miss the winters though First football game ever was going to see the Bison in an outdoor stadium. Was suppose to be there this summer but the reunion got canceled. Still have a shit ton of family up there nearly ended up heading out there for college just couldn't bring myself to go someplace that was green and gold... had some friends who did, winter is no joke out there on the plains. it may get cold as fuck up there but i'd still take livin up on the range than out there. this all workin from home and not seeing anyone has kinda made me wish i did have a job that was easy to do remotely in good times i'd love to live up in northern mn. |

Moms cousin had a large cabin on lake Beltrami just outside of Bemidji. Beautiful country.
