Welcome girls to the post draft roundtable
alright, lets get this started. Lets talk about your teams. What are your offseason plans?
BUCKS: At this point, it’s to show improvement. I would prefer to win games but I still have one CY year left. Ideally, I would like to move some of my youth for some really good talent at the swing spot or up front. Either way though, no massive rush. I like my team so far.
KINGS:How FA goes for me will determine what I do this season. I can tank again but I absolutely hate tanking, it's so damn boring. Hopefully I can land someone nice in FA with my cap, but if not, I can bring some of my guys back and probably make the playoffs. I dunno. I would really like to compete, but I need a big TC I think with this core. In a perfect world, I steal someone in FA, then bring back my FAs, but the chances of that happening are so low that I can't even begin to plan on that. No matter how FA goes, I have a lot of guys I can use as fillers for bigger deals, so I'll probably start exploring those options after Day 1.
NETS:Trade all my vets, acquire firsts and tank. This roster was solid but feel like it was gonna be stuck in the mid of 45-49 wins for a few seasons. Trading KP for a few rookies kicked things off. I'm shipping Bradley and Beans to Minnesota for a couple picks as well, should be a boring season of tanking!
MAVERICKS:Right now my goal is to win because I dont have my picks for next 2 years there has been offer for me to get em back but ill look at offseason first if Ill be rebuilding.
What were you hoping/expecting out of the draft and what are your plans now post draft?
BUCKS:I was expecting Zion, Morant or RJ. I got one of them so I’m good. Last draft I got plenty of projects and hope for type of guys. Also got plenty of guys up front. I was able to fill a spot of big time need with the BPA. I’m happy. Right now, it’s just about going forward and adding more talent.
KINGS:Obviously I was hoping to jump in the draft, but of course that doesn't happen. Miss out on two all-world talents in previous tank years, then get the #6 in probably the worst draft ever. Rough stuff. Well, if KPJ has some potential, I think he could be a very good player, so it's all going to depend on TC for him. Davis didn't have any notes, so he probably sucks, but his ratings look nice, so maybe he is a steal.
NETS:Before the draft I was just hoping to get back into BBS sometime in 2021, so it exceeded my expectations. The plan now is to aimlessly stare into the void of a tank season.
MAVERICKS:I just got hired, my plans are to sign max free agents and improve from last year team Drummond and Adebayo are good enough on their own that ill prob make playoffs with minimal changes.
I think we can agree that the top 3 were pretty much locked in. After 3 where there any surprises for you? anyone you thought went too high or too low
BUCKS:I thought PJ Washington would’ve went higher. Also thought KPJR went a bit to high. It’s hard to say though because this draft, after the big 3, is pretty much similar. Didn’t really love Clarke or Hachimura either but Indy traded them.
KINGS:Honestly, after the top 3 can you really be surprised by anyone? Very weak draft with a bunch of players you just hope develop into a 4th or 5th starter basically. I imagine Spencer threw some random shit out there, but not like you can plan on that. I mean we're talking guys like Daniel Gafford lmao. I don't like Jaxson Hayes, C+ bigs never seem to pan out to anything, but who knows. You could probably organize 4-12 however you want and it's all the same.
NETS:Kinda wild to me that Keldon and porter were top 5 picks. I guess it speaks to how little separation there was after the top 3 prospects. I may eat my words with Porter as his notes made him sound like a possible stud, but I just don't see it.
MAVERICKS:Kevin Porter JR surprised me but his notes seems nice, Herro and Hachimura are nice get at that range imo.
After the top 3 do you see any possible stars?
BUCKS:Stars? Nope. I do think someone like Keldon Johnson can be solid as hell. Maybe even really good. PJ Washington as well. Hunter should end up being good as well. I do think this draft can have a solid of role guys and good players. Lacking on stars though.
KINGS:Stars? No. Potentially good players, sure. Like I said earlier, if KPJ has any potential under the hood, he can be a nice starter I think. Dort will be another great, efficient stock player. Keldon Johnson is probably pretty solid after camps, another good 4th or 5th starter type. I don't see any of these guys becoming stars though.
NETS:Dort could be a defensive star. Porter if he started with 95+ potential and gets lucky with TC improvement. Otherwise I don't really see it...I really like the Naz Reid pick in the second round, he reminds me of ZBO without the rebounding.
MAVERICKS: Umm probably not but its a toss up at this point depends on their potential theres probably a couple sleeper waiting to be picked of course. So yeah but I dont know who
Who will be better.. Tacko or Bol Bol?
IBUCKS:’ll go with Bol. Feel like he may have a bit more potential then Tacko. Not sure what the notes look like for either so I can be totally off base here. I kinda zoned out after like, the 5th pick.
KINGS:I guess I'll go with Bol Bol just because his upside might be higher? Both pretty irrelevant players probably.
NETS:Neither of these lanky ass bags of bones will be relevant. Give me Bol as a third string SG/SF tho. At least he can shoot.
MAVERICKS: Im a Celtics fan so obviously Tacko, but Bol Bol handling kills him imo dude can go coast to coast irl but who cares hes a benchwarmer too.
What are you looking for when you draft?
BUCKS:Talent. Depending on what my plan is, potential is something I also look for. Sometimes it’s not the right move but I do hope for that homerun instead of just taking the simple, easy hit
KINGS:Usually BPA, but depending on the situation, I might take a chance on a boom/bust type guy, like Fultz and hopefully KPJ. Obviously draft notes play a big role, but ratings-wise Inside and Rebounding. If you can get a PG with possibly high potential or B or higher outside already, they're nice to take chances on due to the FBB PG TC factor. Big men need that D and Reb. Etc etc
NETS:Given the option of similar players I'm taking the one thats 18 or 19...just have the possibility of the teenager potential boost. I hate drafting bigs that you have to waste camps on their rebounding, if they're particularly poor at it you have to use 33% of their camp capital to improve it. I also avoid players with handling issues if at all possible.
MAVERICKS: Best available player all the time, no matter which draft or whichever players I currently have its easy to play out of position in FBB
Who had the best draft?
The team that drafted Zion obviously, hopefully he has some stocks if not then the team that drafted JA
BUCKS:Raps got Zion so should be them. Aside from that, not sure. I did like a few of the second round guys. Claxton was a solid get in the 2nd. Warriors I thought had a solid draft as well. Roby was a solid 2nd round pick as well.
KINGS:Toronto and Milwaukee I guess. This was basically a 2 man draft, so they win the prize. Though Zion being able to receive +8 Inside Scoring was a big yikes imo, that potential better be 100. Morant looking like a young Markelle Fultz, gotta respect it.
NETS:The Raptors cause they won the luck of the draw and procured Zion.
MAVERICKS:The team that drafted Zion obviously, hopefully he has some stocks if not then the team that drafted JA.
Was this one of the weakest drafts ever? maybe weakest? In your opinion.
BUCKS:I mean, yeah, it’s pretty weak. The other draft that I can think of that was pretty blah was the Roy draft but even that turned out some nice players up top. I think this could top that draft for weakest.
KINGS:Definitely one of the weakest. I don't think it'll end up the worst, but that all depends on the upside these fellas have. 2001 and 2002 drafts weren't very good, but will some of these guys reach TP/ZBo levels? I dunno. Zion seems pretty limited to be THE guy from this class, but he could just explode and make all the speculation pointless, I guess.
NETS:It's hard to say right after the draft ended...we won't really know until a few seasons from now but on paper it is certainly one of the weaker ones. Every draft has a couple top tier specs but after that I don't really see many bona-fide second tier players. I think Dort will be useful..PJ'S base could make him a solid starter but other than that? They all look like boom/bust types
MAVERICKS:Wasnt here long enough to have a correct opinion here, but seeing it right now only the top 3 has potential to be star its looking like so maybe yeah i guess.
Do you think the introduction of fake drafts will make it tougher to draft? How do you feel about fake drafts and what would you have preferred if not fake drafts.
BUCKS:I like fake drafts. It’ll be way more interesting. I think the biggest thing with fake drafts is that there won’t be this expectation of “oh, this player should be like this” or whatever. It’s fake. Completely up to Spencer. So yeah, it’ll be a little difficult but more interesting overall.
KINGS:Not really. These last few drafts have felt that way anyway to be honest. Just go by what Spence says and hope he isn't trolling you. Pretty much been the gameplan for awhile now. Sometimes you think you're drafting a guy that will get you stocks, and then he doesn't. It happens. I don't mind fake, I think it can be fun. Whatever Spencer enjoys making is fine by me. I tend to get bored with "retro" and the GM created players of BBS was some of the most fun I've had in previous iterations of BBS, we'll see how it goes.
NETS:I'm fine with fake drafts. I think it will make it harder to find fresh GMs with them and some current GMs will probably lose enough interest to step down but I don't mind them. IMO there will probably have to be more notes for prospects to get a better idea of what they are. I'm not sure if less volume of players/more indepth notes would be better or notes on like 30 players.
MAVERICKS:I prefer retro to be honest but we can still have like 3-4 high school draft class before we go there after the Lamelo draft. Obviously you dont know who to pick and has potential and will be relying on notes.
Lets stray a little from the draft now…
The pistons won again. Can they make it 3?
BUCKS:No. Not shitting on them but a 3 peat is hard to do. Curry is stupid good and they are bringing back the squad pretty much but I can see them being taken out. Galo’s done a great job putting talent around Steph though.
KINGS:I assume you mean three in a row, because they've won 3 titles already. I don't see why not. Steph is unstoppable and I imagine Spence has a hard time sitting comfortably when he's going through the box scores of his creation. Pistons are probably in their last "guaranteed" year, so might as well run it back. They'll have to clear out salary fast, but for now, wouldn't bet on anyone else.
NETS: They return most of their roster so it is possible. I hope the Rockets are able to improve their roster slightly and win the title. I believe in Ahsan so the Rockets are my title pick.
MAVERICKS:Ya there team is nice, they got a solid core and should be the favorites next season too.
If you could switch with one team who would it be and why?
BUCKS:I guess Indy or Dallas. Indy has a lot of assets plus like 3 different farm teams. Dallas has like 30 bigs. They should be able to easily fill out the rest of the roster. Bigs are tough to find.
KINGS:Default answer has to be the Pacers right? Lots of great youth, going to be a terror to deal with soon. Other than that, I guess TWolves so I could have Giannis, the unstoppable monster who should've been mine.

NETS:The suns since they're my team. Shout out to the valley boyz this season. Dropped a dumb game to the Wolves last night but it is nice to be relevant again.
MAVERICKS:Umm probably Pistons or maybe Sargo and his multiple firsts. Thats a nice start but Dallas is a good start anyway and not complaining.
The introduction of the farm system has created some great trolling as of late.. Whose the best troller right now?
BUCKS:Always gotta be royal. I don’t think Marty is as much a troll as he’s just lashing back at people to go at him.
KINGS:Um, I mean marty has always been the gold standard of trolls, and he hasn't really missed a beat in that regard. I always enjoy Royal though, so I'll go with him. Overall, the trolling seems to be relatively tame compared to the past, but I could be misremembering it, or I just care a lot less about all of it now. Though I do enjoy the trolling of Jazz player value.
NETS:Although I don't think there's anything particularly unique about his trolling I've always admired how Marty is able to almost universally get under everyone's skin. It's impressive so he is my pick.
MAVERICKS:Im surprised that Vedda has been overthrown to be honest, but Royal is a sleeper troll too. Jr's drake gimmick is kinda interesting too so...
Last question. FIRE ONE, GO HAVE A DRINK WITH ONE, MAKE ONE YOUR FARM TEAM. GO
BUCKS:Fire Nanz. Need a new champ in wrestling. Terrible representation of BBSW IMVHO.
I’ll have a drink with play.
Farm team? Eh. Not even sure I trade with anyone that much besides skillz. I guess it can be the Pacers. I need some frontcourt dudes.
KINGS: Fire augustus. Have a drink with HF. Make Play my farm team

NETS: This isn't a question
MAVERICKS: I only know the hue crew so fire everyone from them since they troll too much sometimes, have a drink with em cause they the only guys i know here and also them as a farm team cause I know em already? Ya mostly freestyling in this its my first day in here *insert uzi*
Thank you fellas for participating.
