not an individual level issue. someone's always going to offer the big contract. sucks to see personal responsibility arguments against improving our sim league! if you guys want stars to take up 1/3 of the HC and lose value at 32, burn in hell! We’ve been doing this for how long and people still offer the same shit contracts. I’m fine losing a star in FA if i am not willing to offer that full max. But I’m different yup

I think there is a certain art form to offering guys contracts. Those who do it properly have an edge on others. you aren't talking about the amnesty candidates if you're trying to keep wade, lou will, lebron, kg, al jeff, etc. after their rookie max, there's no option but to give a huge deal. there's no art to it. either you give them that deal or someone else does. the league suffers either way--these guys lose value and become impossible to move. our HC is 78 mil and second maxes get up to 30+ mil per season. that's bad for the league, and these contracts are inevitable if guys hit FA. if we could look beyond holding people accountable (especially b/c the amnesty would include a penalty), i think it's pretty clear that the trade market would benefit if we had a way to modify the back half of second maxes it depends what the penalty is but i'm worried we will just see more bad contracts if you can get out of them.

But yeah I’m for a stretch provision or something a straight amnesty I’m not for. Leave the team with some sort of cut salary they shouldn’t get the whole contract taken off.

But I’m different yup seems clear it's inevitable that max is going out, whether or not the original team offers it. and that's my point. these deals are inevitable, and they're awful for the league. you can penalize the guys who give these deals out without killing every star's value & creating 15+ unmovable pieces.

Leave the team with some sort of cut salary they shouldn’t get the whole contract taken off. the problem is that 1) if i can get out of a bad contract then i would be more rather than less likely to offer one 2) certain gms - probably the ones who do a better job at managing the cap now - will find the ways to exploit whatever amnesty rule is made and therefore the gap between them and the gms who give out the bad contracts will grow

Only useable up to 50% total per team. So you can use 10% on 5 contracts or 50% in one!

1 - it shouldn't be linked to posts. 2 - you should lose the guy and he goes into the next fa 3 - you should keep a cap hit 4 - you should lose a pick 5 - you shouldn't be able to amnesty the first 3 years of a deal
